Mandalay - BhamoCrusie

During: 5 nights - 6 Days (Upstream, 277 Miles)

 Day 1 Mandalay - KyaukMyaung (52 Miles* 84 Km) (-L,D) )

Embarkation time is not later than 07:00 am at Gaw- Wein Jetty. Cast off and sail through upstream. Approx: 17:00, we visiting to the spectacular pottries- making village of Kyauk- Myaung, and see the manufacture stages of the famous 50 Gallons (200 Litres) pots (1.5 hours visit). Moor overnight at Male.

  Day 2 KyaukMyaung-Tagaung (Miles 75* Km 120) (B,L,D)

Cast off early morning, we explore by foot the ancient city of Tagaung viewing the fortifications, a famous nat or spirit shrine and the archaeological area. Moor overnight at river village.

 

  Day 3 Tagaung - HtiGyaing- Thapayar Village (Miles 53* Km 84) (B,L,D)

Cast off early morning, sail upriver to Htigyaing. In the morning, we climb the Pagoda Hill at Htigyaing with its stunning views of the Irrawaddy. Moor overnight at Thapayar Village.

 

  Day 4 Thapayar Village-Katha-Shwegu (Miles 57* Km 91) (B,L,D)

Early departure, after breakfast we arrive Katha, the setting of the George Orwell's book "Burmese Days" and also the place where hundreds of the Irrawaddy Flotilla Company ships were scuttled in 1942 before the Japanese could seize them. We explore this pleasant colonial town surrounded by hills plenty of hardwood forests and (if time permit) we will also visit an elephant logging. Moor overnight Kyung Daw (the door bank of ShweGu).

 

  Day 5 ShweGu- Bhamo (Miles 40* Km 64) (B,L,D)

Early departure we enter the dramatic 2nd defile with its magnificent cliffs reaching down the narrow channel. We arrive at Bhamo in the late afternoon. Evening walking tour of the town, an important trading post located just 50 miles from the Chinese border.

 

  Day 6 Bhamo and Disembark From The Ship (B)

Depend on disembarkation & flight time.

Remark: Sightseeing may be changed due to the water level and weather condition.

6:00 Embarkation at Gaw - Wein Jetty. Information briefing on the Promenade Deck ( Muster Station.)
6:30 Cast Off.
11:00 - 12:00 Restaurant will serve lunch
13:00 - 14:00 ETA : Yandabo Village, Sightseeing Yandabo Village. Dependant on the base economy is famous for the production of terracotta from the riverbank clay.We see the pottery making process at various stages. Yandabo, historically recognized for the signing of the Yandabo Treaty which took place under a tree on the riverbank in 1826 between the British and Royal Burmese House-hold of Ava.
14:00Back to ship and cast off, continue downstream to Bagan.
18:30ETA: Bagan, disembark from the ship

   This Rate EXCLUDES, all meals, tea/coffee, drinks, gratuity, transfer from Hotel to Jetty, all items of a personal    nature; health-accident-baggage or travel protection plan.
