After lunch there is a choice of tours available. The first option will take you to witness some of Mandalay’s traditional arts, continuing on to visit the ancient capital of Amarapura, the famous U Bein Bridge and the Sagaing hills. Alternatively board a chartered boat at Htin-Win Jetty for a scenic cruise, accompanied by complimentary refreshments, to meet Belmond Road to Mandalay in Myin Mu.

Dine on Asian and Western cuisine in the elegant Restaurant, enjoying our excellent house wines or selecting an international label from our extensive list.

Mandalay

  Relax with an early-morning yoga session. Continue to explore Myin Mu. Take a trishaws tour for a ride around town, visiting a local market

Stretch out and relax at an early-morning yoga session, followed by a refreshing treat from our Healthy Juice Bar.

This morning disembark to explore Myin Mu, beginning with a traditional almsgiving ceremony. Then board trishaws for a ride around town, visiting a local market and learning about the area’s small cottage industries.

Return to the ship for lunch as your journey continues towards Bagan.

Take an afternoon at leisure, making the most of the spa facilities or unwinding beside the pool. Activities available include two fascinating lectures, an astrology reading, and a longyi-tying lesson. Savour a traditional afternoon tea on our onboard ‘Burmese Tea Shop’ experience.

This evening dress in your longyi for our cocktail party, followed by another delicious dinner in the Restaurant.

Bagan

Wake early this morning for sunrise yoga or meditation classes as the ship sails into Bagan.

A range of tour options is available today. “Introduction to Bagan” explores the temples and history of the area, “A Day in the Life” explores local culture, food and markets, and “Bagan by Bicycle” offers an action-packed tour for those seeking adventure.

Before rejoining the ship for lunch, stroll through the small village that is home to Belmond’s private jetty near Old Bagan. You may wish to visit Belmond’s free clinic, where our onboard doctor will be treating local patients.

In the afternoon visit Ananda, one of Bagan’s most magnificent temples. Continue your tour as you explore an off-the-beaten-track temple by torchlight. End your visit by savouring a spectacular sunset across the plains.

Dine under the stars at the Road to Mandalay Grill on the Observation Deck, before enjoying a classic marionette performance.
